When Right is Right and Left is Wrong

One of the strangest pieces of advice I ever got when it came to women was “treat a lady like a whore and a whore like a lady”.  Now some of you may think that is a little over the top and I agree it is, but it can teach us an important lesson about life if we apply it in other areas.

What is this saying really? Well, to me it says that the follower of that advice is a self absorbed individual willing to say anything to get what they want. I will let you decide what it means to you besides the obvious.

I was living a pretty much fly by the seat of your pants life until a few years ago when I became aware that my kids were grown and gone and I wasn’t getting any younger. Started wondering to myself what was important to me as a man, husband and citizen in this great nation. I spend seventeen years in uniform in the service of this great nation and at the beginning of that service on February 5th, 1978 I took an oath to “protect and defend the constitution from all enemies both foreign and domestic so help me God”.

It’s obvious that the oath applied for those 17 years I was in uniform. What happened on February 14th, 1995 when I woke up for the first time in 17 years without my dog tags on and a uniform to wear to work? Well until March 2008, nothing. You see from the time I retired from the service until then my head got buried in the sand like the rest of America and my thinking was pretty much centered on leaving the service behind and establishing a second career. Besides, I served for 17 years it was somebody else’s turn now.

Then it hit me. There was no expiration date on that oath.  So what did that mean to me now?

It means I can still defend the Constitution but now I have to do it by exercising my constitutional rights. This blog is a good example. My first amendment rights say I can speak freely as I see fit without the government or anyone else telling me to shut up. The left wants to institute the fairness doctrine because they can’t get their message out without it and that is wrong. If you have something to say the people want to hear you don’t need the governments help making sure that you get equal time on networks that say something you disagree with.

I defend my 2nd amendment rights by making sure I have ample firearms and more than ample supplies of ammunition. I also protect it by making sure that when I walk out of my house, my Ruger SR9(9mm semi auto for you anti gun liberals) is concealed on my person. The left is doing everything they can to turn over our gun control laws to the UN, place restrictions on ammunition manufacturers that make it impossible to make ammo at a reasonable price thereby making it unaffordable to the average American and that is wrong. Additionally I fully support any effort to do away with the conceal carry law in South Carolina and going back to open carry as it was intended. There is no reason I should have to hide the fact that I am armed.

I defend the original Constitution by doing my civic duty and voting in every election that I can vote in and making sure I do my home work on the candidates and not just voting straight ticket. That is the lazy way out. The left has done everything they can over the last 40 years to gerrymander voting districts to make sure that blacks are elected. Now before you go screaming RACISM!!!! Think about it.  How would the blacks feel If the Caucasians were the minority and they were doing the same to make sure that a Caucasian was elected. It is wrong no matter which way you look at it.
It also means that I can defend it by becoming an activist for the Republic. I am the founder of two different 9/12 Project groups and current President of one. I am a Tea Party Patriot and the Commander of the local militia. (no not the anti government one, the Constitutional mandated one).  Any of you interested in finding out about our unit, please contact me for more info.

There are many more examples of what the progressive left is doing to negate the work of the founding fathers and I will fight those as well. The ones I mentioned are just the ones that are the most at danger and the ones I am currently engaged with on a daily basis.

If you count yourself among the progressives or still call yourself a liberal, take a step back for a moment and think about it. What were the founding father trying to do? They limited the Fed to 17 specific responsibilities. You think that is all they are taking care of today? You need to learn to count if you do.

In closing you need to know, I live my live by a firm set of principles and values. Among them are honesty, reverence, hope, thrift, humility, charity, sincerity, moderation, hard work, courage, personal responsibility and gratitude. I believe in God the Father Almighty,  I believe that America is good, the family is sacred and that my wife and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.  I believe that if you break the law, you pay the price and that justice should be applied equally and nobody should be above it. I have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; I am not guaranteed a result. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with whom I want to. The government cannot force me to be charitable. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion. And finally, the government works me. I do not answer to them; they answer to me.
