The coming eruption

Any of you who are paying even a little bit of attention to what is happening in the middle east cannot help but see what is coming. With the Muslim Brotherhood set to take over the reins of control in Egypt to the unrest in Syria and the terror attack on Thursday that took the life of 7 Israelis, tensions are rising by the minute. Egypt has now recalled its Ambassador to Israel, rocket attacks continue unabated from Gaza and Hezbollah is rattling it's sword in Southern Lebanon. Now all we need is Jordon to go into meltdown and the stage is set.

The perfect storm is forming over Israel.

What has happened to the courage that we used to have when it came to standing up for a friend? Seems to me like we are making amends with previous enemies and throwing away our friendship with traditional allies.

Starting this Sunday August 21st and running through Wednesday August 24th, Glenn Beck will be doing a series of events culminating in an event that is sure to affect the entire world. Restoring Courage is an event that will take place on the southern wall of the Temple Mount on Sunday August 24th. Here is a short promo video:

Having traveled to Israel many times over the last 30 years I can tell you with certainty that the Israeli people are keenly aware of the storm that is about to engulf them. The bad part of all this is that most of the rest of the world is not, or just does not care one way or the other.

Well, I for one stand with Israel. I know my fellow 9/12ers stand with them as well. Does your church publicly support them? Mine won't and I am sadly disappointed in that. And for those that say the church should not be involved in politics, this is not a political problem, it is a matter of the survival of Gods chosen people.

The number of Jews returning to Israel from all over the world is growing exponentially each day. They see what is coming. Don't you think it is time you opened your eyes and see it too?

To my Israeli brothers and sisters, I stand with you in this time of uncertainty. America I ask you to stand as well.

So I am about to become a Grandpa

It was way back on December 7, 1983 that my son finally showed up at 8:43 am at the Naval  Hospital here in Chucktown. Wow, did my life change. Then on November 6, 1986 at 7:53 am my daughter made her entrance at the Moncrief Army Hospital in Columbia. And wow, did it change again.

I didn't read any books to get ready to be a dad although the wife read every how to book on parenting and taking care of newborns you could get your hands on. I relied on the time tested experience that I had observed from my father and his father and eventually she put the books down and did the some based on the time tested experience of her mother and her mothers mother.

That experience has garnered us two wonderful children who have grown and married and are both now expecting their first children, both boys(much to my excitement). We will welcome our first grandson Zachary into this world sometime in early September and our second grandson Ian in late September or early October.

Now, how does my life differ as a grandpa? We first off, the grands won't be here 24/7 so we can send them home when we have reach our limit. Second I can spoil them rotten like I would never have consider doing with my children when they were growing up.

Having said that, let me say this. I will not "child proof" my house. I think that is a BS way of opting out of teaching your children what they can and cannot do. I never had child safety locks on cabinets when I was a kid. I had a mom and dad who slapped my hand every time I reach for something that I was not supposed to mess with. As as result, I knew what was off limits and knew what was OK to mess with.

We have some great improvements planned for the back yard including a righteous jungle gym setup and kiddie pool. These improvements will in no way intrude on our massive vegetable garden that we enjoy every growing season as we have a double lot to work with.

In closing I am looking forward to this chapter in my life more than I thought I would. One grand son will be local and one is in Connecticut. Hopefully we can see as much as possible of our long distance grandson.

Stay tuned for updates as they get here and grow with us.

Tic Toc Tic Toc...................

With the debt ceiling clock counting down one tic toc at a time to the August 2nd deadline, I was wondering what kind of scare tactic was going to come next from the administration to try to convince the American public the Myans were wrong about the end of the world it was actually coming on August 2nd if we do not authorize an increase NOW!

Let's see, so far we have been warned that:

Social Security checks might not go out on time
Disability checks might be held up
Teachers and Fireman will have to be laid off.
Oh, and Police too.
Let's not forget about the emergency services folks that come to our medical rescue when we have an emergency.
Military retirement checks have been mentioned

So you see, they have covered just about all the things that provide for the safety and security of the general public.

At this hour the House of Representatives are debating the Cut, Cap and Balance bill the Republicans have put forward. Take a look at the details you will realize this is just more utter political BS that we get consistently from both parties. What the hell good does requiring $111 billion in cuts from the 14+ trillion dollar deficit. That is a measly .079% of the total debt of 14 trillion. Oh, and they are allowing a 2.4 trillion increase in the debt ceiling to boot.

Now, I ask you if you are having to decide whether you need to increase your credit limit for the 14th time in the last 10 years or cut back in your spending, what are you going to do? Me, I say look at some cuts in spending. Obviously raising my credit limit 14 times hasn't help reduce my debt. So I look at cutting spending and decide that instead of spending 50 bucks a week on lunch I am only going to spend 49.99.
Now that fixes everything doesn't it?

To make matters worse the insanity on the left wants NO cuts in spending and the 2.4 trillion in debt ceiling.

Now, I got that off my chest to get this off my chest.

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This country is in trouble.

If you don't know who Cloward and Piven are, I highly recommend you look them up. You will see that the Progressives are following their playbook to the letter. They are taking deliberate actions that will increase private sector unemployment, shut down businesses and creating a crisis in order to enact more of their playbook mainly though Executive order.

OK, I am done for now. 46 days till football season. Can't get here soon enough.

Let me get this straight, we ran out of money in May, but Uncle Sam is still in business.

So exactly how does this work? The treasury allows the fed to keep operating past the debt ceiling in May with some obscure accounting magic and now they are saying that an obscure measure in the 14th amendment may allow us to avoid default after August 2nd? What the hell kind of smoke and mirror bs is the fed pulling. You either have the money or you don't, there either is a deadline or there is not.

Here is the deal. The distrust after the Civil war prompted the inclusion of the following language in section 4 of the 14th amendment:

"The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void."

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who has warned that a default would have "catastrophic" consequences, raised the clause during a discussion of the debt ceiling in May -- though he did not say the White House should invoke it if negotiations fail.

Here's an idea Mr. Secretary. STOP SPENDING MONEY WE DON'T HAVE!!!. AND YES IT IS JUST THAT SIMPLE.

Now that I have that off my chest let me ask all of you who voted for this abomination how you feel now. How does it feel to see your country ripped apart from the inside out by a progressive policy that has been in play since the Wilson administration? This entire tenure of the current administration has been about executing the Cloward and Piven strategy of destroying our Republic(yes, we are a Republic not a Democracy) by overloading the public dole(that is the welfare and government assistance payments, bailouts etc) to such a point where the economy collapses and the government has no choice but the come to the rescue. If you are not familiar with Cloward and Piven read up on it and you will see it as clear as day.

If you aren't awake to what is happening, you better get that way in a hurry or you will be the preverbial frog in the boiling pot.

When Right is Right and Left is Wrong

One of the strangest pieces of advice I ever got when it came to women was “treat a lady like a whore and a whore like a lady”.  Now some of you may think that is a little over the top and I agree it is, but it can teach us an important lesson about life if we apply it in other areas.

What is this saying really? Well, to me it says that the follower of that advice is a self absorbed individual willing to say anything to get what they want. I will let you decide what it means to you besides the obvious.

I was living a pretty much fly by the seat of your pants life until a few years ago when I became aware that my kids were grown and gone and I wasn’t getting any younger. Started wondering to myself what was important to me as a man, husband and citizen in this great nation. I spend seventeen years in uniform in the service of this great nation and at the beginning of that service on February 5th, 1978 I took an oath to “protect and defend the constitution from all enemies both foreign and domestic so help me God”.

It’s obvious that the oath applied for those 17 years I was in uniform. What happened on February 14th, 1995 when I woke up for the first time in 17 years without my dog tags on and a uniform to wear to work? Well until March 2008, nothing. You see from the time I retired from the service until then my head got buried in the sand like the rest of America and my thinking was pretty much centered on leaving the service behind and establishing a second career. Besides, I served for 17 years it was somebody else’s turn now.

Then it hit me. There was no expiration date on that oath.  So what did that mean to me now?

It means I can still defend the Constitution but now I have to do it by exercising my constitutional rights. This blog is a good example. My first amendment rights say I can speak freely as I see fit without the government or anyone else telling me to shut up. The left wants to institute the fairness doctrine because they can’t get their message out without it and that is wrong. If you have something to say the people want to hear you don’t need the governments help making sure that you get equal time on networks that say something you disagree with.

I defend my 2nd amendment rights by making sure I have ample firearms and more than ample supplies of ammunition. I also protect it by making sure that when I walk out of my house, my Ruger SR9(9mm semi auto for you anti gun liberals) is concealed on my person. The left is doing everything they can to turn over our gun control laws to the UN, place restrictions on ammunition manufacturers that make it impossible to make ammo at a reasonable price thereby making it unaffordable to the average American and that is wrong. Additionally I fully support any effort to do away with the conceal carry law in South Carolina and going back to open carry as it was intended. There is no reason I should have to hide the fact that I am armed.

I defend the original Constitution by doing my civic duty and voting in every election that I can vote in and making sure I do my home work on the candidates and not just voting straight ticket. That is the lazy way out. The left has done everything they can over the last 40 years to gerrymander voting districts to make sure that blacks are elected. Now before you go screaming RACISM!!!! Think about it.  How would the blacks feel If the Caucasians were the minority and they were doing the same to make sure that a Caucasian was elected. It is wrong no matter which way you look at it.
It also means that I can defend it by becoming an activist for the Republic. I am the founder of two different 9/12 Project groups and current President of one. I am a Tea Party Patriot and the Commander of the local militia. (no not the anti government one, the Constitutional mandated one).  Any of you interested in finding out about our unit, please contact me for more info.

There are many more examples of what the progressive left is doing to negate the work of the founding fathers and I will fight those as well. The ones I mentioned are just the ones that are the most at danger and the ones I am currently engaged with on a daily basis.

If you count yourself among the progressives or still call yourself a liberal, take a step back for a moment and think about it. What were the founding father trying to do? They limited the Fed to 17 specific responsibilities. You think that is all they are taking care of today? You need to learn to count if you do.

In closing you need to know, I live my live by a firm set of principles and values. Among them are honesty, reverence, hope, thrift, humility, charity, sincerity, moderation, hard work, courage, personal responsibility and gratitude. I believe in God the Father Almighty,  I believe that America is good, the family is sacred and that my wife and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.  I believe that if you break the law, you pay the price and that justice should be applied equally and nobody should be above it. I have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; I am not guaranteed a result. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with whom I want to. The government cannot force me to be charitable. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion. And finally, the government works me. I do not answer to them; they answer to me.

The Chocolate Mayor writes a book

Will the drama with this guy never cease?  Just when I thought we were done with him and "chocolateness"  he pops back up with a literary offering that I am sure will sell at least....oh maybe 7 copies.
